GIRL CHILD CONCERNS TEAM ON  AN ADVOCACY VISIT TO THE CARETAKER CHAIRPERSON OF CHIKUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA IN KADUNA STATE HAJIYA HADIZA LADI YAHUZA

The Advocacy visit to the Chairperson Hajiya Hadiza Yahuza,was aimed at introducing the GCC RMNCAH advocacy project  (Supported by Champions for Change Nigeria )in Keke, a Community under Chikun  constituency and solicit for her support in ensuring the goal of the project is met, which is the construction of a health center in Keke community by the Government to address the health challenges of the populace.           

GCC had been working with Adolescent mothers in Keke on issues relating to Reproductive health of adolescent mothers. Prior to this visitation, several RMNCAH advocacies and baseline survey had been carried out in keke community, and it is evident from the research that there is an urgent need of a health center in keke community,  against the backdrop of a sizeable number of deaths and  complications arising from lack of access to reproductive health facilities  in the community.

Welcoming Girl Child Concerns team, the chairperson Hajiya Hadiza Ladi Yahuza applauded GCC for their work and intervention in her community, she pledged her support to GCC and promised to explore other areas the local council could collaborate with the organization.

The project is aimed at increasing access to RMNCAH facilities within Keke community, through advocacy to the Government for the citing of a health center in the community which will greatly help in reducing maternal mortality and child morbidity in keke.
